ROUTE CONDITION INVENTORY

The Gunnison Valley is home to hundreds of routes, some of which haven’t seen new hardware since their initial bolting. We are working with community members to inventory the condition of hardware on routes in order to prioritize hardware replacement efforts.

This is an ongoing project, and we can use your help! Next time you’re out climbing, fill our Route Report so we can help maintain our routes.

Bolts for the People

The Gunnison Valley has been climbed in for decades with little to know maintenance and the hardware in the valley makes this plain. We work collaboratively with climbing groups like the American Safe Climbing Association and the Access Fund to fund the replacement of worn hardware and anchors all over the Gunnison Valley.

CLIMBING ACCESS TRAILS

We are currently working to address both trail maintenance and trail creation needs at multiple climbing areas throughout the Gunnison Valley. We have conducted a trail inventory in Taylor Canyon and are currently pursuing funding sources for trail work throughout the valley.
